Did teaching cars ever used to have two steering wheels?My dad, my girlfriends dad and her mum have been discussing this for ages. My dad and her's are sure that cars used to have pedals and a steering wheels on either side, so that the instructor could over ride the learner if they were about to crack into a lamppost. I am looking to end this discussion. This is in the UK as far as I know but it could have been other places too.

I have been in the business for 10 years most people try and trade after 3 years. The current popularity of 72 month and even 84 month finance will change that. We get a steady flow of customer for the most part until like now the economy get shaky then we slow down. The 2005/2006 spree was caused by low rates and big sales(GM's first employee price sale). I hope it does turn but I wont hold my breath
What state are you in?
The general process is:
1) notify the DMV in your area by writing that you intend to apply for a dealer license, there are several inspections that you must submit to.
2) have about $3500 cash in order to get insurance and a bond…a good credit rating is also sometimes required to get a bond.
3) some states require a prelicensing course for auto dealers, you may or may not have to take this course. It is expensive, but very easy.
There may also be differences in your state regarding the requirements for a retail license (selling cars on a car lot) or a wholesale license (buying and selling at auctions only). Good luck!

It is a scam in less your local police advise in newspaper as they have to when auctioning off opeoples cars. They are as is and might not drive but for 5 or 100,000 mies, Usally big one held twice a year.

I don't know about California, but in Nevada you can only sell 3 cars without a dealer's license.
This is a simple question that can be answered by contacting the California DMV.
tell the person that you will not buy the car unless it is checked out by a mechanic if he wants to sell the car he will work out the details about $75 to $100

Registering in another state where you do not have, and cannot prove residence is tax fraud. Not only that, but almost all dealerships have to enter into reciprocal tax arrangements with other states. That means that you are taxed at the rate for your state of 'residence' and the dealer remits tax to that state. So even if you say you live in Wisconsin, when you buy in Texas you are taxed at thw Wisconsin rate. If you tell the dealer that you will pay tax and title in your 'home' state, and they are audited, you will be liable to pay those taxes, plus penalties.
You can register as a broker/reseller if you have a dealer license. That would allow you to purchase for resale or export and not pay tax on the purchase. Keep immaculate records.
