This is just a take off on the Nigerian money scams.

There isn't a car for sale. They will try to get as much money as they can from you, and the car will never be shipped to you.

He writes: "…The car is locked in a eBay motor warehouse Chicago ready for delivery…" Hello…eBay doesn't have 'motor warehouses' in Chicago or anywhere else.

Just delete the e-mail. There's no one to sue, and no one to charge with a crime.

Often times dealers do not keep physical titles in house. That can be for a number of reasons:

    1) Dealer may have purchased the car at auction, and not received title yet. This is not uncommon. There is a long paper trail that follows every car. Sometimes it takes a few days for the paper to catch up to the car. Again, this is not out of the ordinary.

    2) Dealers – even used car dealers – often use "flooring" companies to pay for their inventory. A flooring company is financing for the dealer. It gives dealers a line of credit to allow them to buy $100,000 worth of inventory, withouth having cash up front. The flooring company holds the title on the car. When the dealer sells the car, the flooring company is paid off, then title is transferred. Again, normal business practice in the auto industry

    3) The vehicle may have been a trade-in from another customer. If so, and if the vehicle was financed, the title may not have arrived from the original finance company. Again, its not unusual to get confirmation of payoff and pending title, then sellig the car before having the physical "live" title.

Frankly, the situation is no cause for alarm at this point. Everything is signed, you paid, you have receipts and sale documents. You have everything you need to register the car in your name. The title is not necessary to the registration process, as long as you have a bill of sale, Dealer ROS and odometer disclosure you are fine.

I recommend you call a nearby car insurance agent to assist you. Since I live in Wyoming I can't recommend an agent in Arkansas, but here is an online resource that can help you. http://www.goodinternetdeals.com/Auto-Insurance.html

    Hope it works out

If you are getting a new tag, count on it being approx. $200-$225. Tax should be around $480. Hopefully you already have your insurance in place, cuz, they will want to see a binder. Good Luck!
